Her love of the art took root at the age of 4 when she began training in the classical styles of Ballet, Tap, and Jazz. At age 13 she started to lead classes and discovered an aptitude for teaching dance as well. In 2001, Alyssa stumbled upon her first Swing dance- Lindy Hop. Quickly gaining an appreciation for the fun and complexity of social dance, she sought instruction in many forms of partner swing dance including Lindy Hop, Charleston, Balboa, Blues, and West Coast Swing. Her goal is to enable students to enjoy dancing and develop skills by emphasizing clear communication between lead and follow.
