With a passion for jazz, both on and off the dance floor, Andrius is known for DJing an eclectic, energizing style of swing and has developed an enthusiastic following. A fixture as a social dancer in the New York lindy hop scene for over a decade, his experience allows him a nuanced understanding of both swing dance and the music that inspires it.
Andrius is one of the most in-demand freelance DJs in the NYC swing scene, and has been a regular presence at every major New York event, including Midsummer Night Swing / Summer for the City, The Battle of the Big Bands on the legendary Intrepid Aircraft Carrier, the Gotham Jazz Festival, and the New York Lindy Exchange (NYLX). He’s spun alongside some of the biggest names in the swing dance scene and has consistently been the DJ of choice for such bands as Gordon Webster and Friends, Danny Jonokuchi and The Revisionists, Danny Lipsitz and The Brass Tacks, and The Hot Toddies. He also holds a residency on the jazz/swing nights at the well-known club, Somewhere Nowhere, where he spins for 300-500 patrons, weekly.
In addition to his work as a swing DJ, Andrius is a regular musical consultant for a number of swing bands and event promoters. He also serves as the Head DJ and creative consultant for Prohibition Productions, the largest independent producer of hot jazz and swing dance events in New York City.
