Alyssa Arter is an accomplished dancer with many years of experience teaching both solo and partner dance. Her love of the art took root at the age of 4 when she began training in the classical styles of Ballet, Tap, and Jazz. At age 13 she started to lead classes and discovered an aptitude for teaching dance as well. In 2001, Alyssa stumbled upon her first Swing dance- Lindy Hop. Quickly gaining an appreciation for the fun and complexity of social dance, she sought instruction in many forms of partner swing dance including Lindy Hop, Charleston, Balboa, Blues, and West Coast Swing. She has gained her extensive knowledge and experience through traveling and learning from notable teachers in each of these styles.
A seasoned instructor and competitor who currently teaches in York PA, Alyssa is known for her warm humor and fun-loving presence on the dance floor. Her goal is to enable students to enjoy dancing and develop skills by emphasizing clear communication between lead and follow. Alyssa believes that establishing great connection and building a solid foundation is key to social dance success!
