Mickey Fortanasce and Kelly Arsenault have been teaching and dancing together in New York City for the past three years. Nationally recognized competitors, they have placed in various competitions in both Lindy Hop and Balboa. Most recently achieving a repeat victory at the International Balboa Championships, at the Balboa Rendezvous held on Balboa Island, the birthplace of the dance. They have been featured in dance articles in Time Out New York , www.priceless.com , have appeared on Good Day New York (NBC), and were interviewed and filmed for a story about Balboa on HDTV. Their commitment to fostering Balboa in New York also led them to establish the city's first and only regularly occurring social dance event devoted to Balboa, known as White Heat. Having danced and taught in New York City for the past three years, Mickey and Kelly have been working to bring to this metropolis a greater love and appreciation for this variant of Swing, "one dancer at a time."
